The Radio Academy is seeking new Trustees to join its board from February 2024. Expressions of interest were invited, for candidates to be elected by the membership in January 2024.

Meet the candidates and cast your vote by 8th Feb.

The Trustees are the vital governing body of The Radio Academy, who oversee the strategy and direction of its activity. Trustees serve a three-year term and are expected to play an active role and attend a minimum of six board meetings per year, by video conference or in-person in London. They should bring with them significant experience and understanding of the UK audio sector.

Interested members should carefully read the Trustees Role Description on the Radio Academy website, and ensure their application addresses its requirements. Applicants will be asked to submit a CV, and a 500-word and 100-word statement, and a photograph.

Applications are open until 18 January.

You must be a Radio Academy Member to apply for a Trustee position. Remember you may be eligible for free membership if you work for a Patron organisation.

In January, applicants will be shortlisted by a sub-committee of Trustees, and the shortlisted candidates will be included on the ballot to be voted on by Radio Academy Members. An online election will then take place by 31 January, with all Radio Academy Members entitled to two votes.

The election comes as three elected Trustees stand down from the board having served three years.  Adele Cross, Kathryn Anastasi and Will Jackson were elected in 2021, and leave with the thanks of the board and the Chair.

Chair of The Radio Academy Helen Thomas said: “The Radio Academy Trustees are passionate, experienced professionals who are committed to serving the industry, and to representing their colleagues on the Board. I want to thank Adele, Kathryn and Will for their tireless energy and insights over the last few years. I encourage others to read the role specification and consider putting themselves forward. I really looking forward to welcoming two new Trustees next year.”
